Full job description

Sandbox Tattoos is one of the most recognized tattoo brands in Ontario.

Two fully booked locations. Twenty plus world class artists. Thousands of five star Google reviews. A reputation built on premium hyper realism and an uncompromising standard of client experience.

We are on a mission to become the best realism tattoo studio in Canada.

The manager is the most important role inside Sandbox. Because of the impact this person has on every client, every artist, and every single day inside this studio.

We are looking for someone exceptional.

The Role

You are the first person every client sees and the last person they interact with before they leave.

You own the front of house completely.

You keep everything running when everything is happening at once — and in a fully booked premium tattoo studio, everything is always happening at once.

This is a fast paced, high energy, people-first role. It requires someone who thrives under pressure, communicates with confidence, and learns faster than the average person.

Open the studio 30 minutes before doors. Review all walk-ins, consultations, and appointments. Confirm artist schedules. Ensure the floor is ready before the first client arrives.

Greet every client with genuine warmth. Manage walk-in triage. Handle consultations alongside artists. Ensure every client signs a consent form before their session — no exceptions.

Answer every phone call within three rings during business hours. Manage scheduling conflicts in real time. Handle cancellations using our protocol. Monitor supplies. Maintain cleanliness standards throughout the day.

Build genuine connections with clients and upsell naturally through those connections. Identify opportunities to expand a client's vision and match them to the right artist.

Keep artists on schedule. Communicate changes before they become problems. Handle all client-facing issues so artists can focus on the work.

Work directly with ownership daily. Flag problems immediately. Bring solutions when you bring problems.

Who We Are Looking For

We are not looking for the most experienced candidate.

We are looking for the right person.

A confident clear speaker.
You make people feel comfortable the moment they interact with you. You are not shy. You can hold a conversation with a nervous first-time client and a frustrated regular in the same five minutes and handle both perfectly.

A fast learner.
When we teach you a system you apply it immediately. You do not make the same mistake twice. You ask questions when you don't know something and you find the answer before you need it again.

Someone people genuinely like.
Clients come back to Sandbox because of the work and because of how the experience made them feel. You are a significant part of that feeling. You should be the kind of person clients remember and ask for by name.

Calm under pressure.
You can have a walk-in at the desk, a call on hold, a scheduling conflict to resolve, and an artist asking a question all at the same time and you handle all of it without losing composure or dropping the standard.

Loyal to the standard.
You protect what Sandbox stands for even when nobody is watching. You do not let things slide because it is easier. You hold the line because you understand what the line is there for.

Coachable.
You will not know how to do everything when you start. That is expected. What is not accepted is slow adoption of systems or resistance to feedback. Coachability is non-negotiable.

Requirements

Experience in a fast paced customer facing role — hospitality, retail management, or service industry preferred.

Tattoo industry experience is a plus. It is not a requirement. The right person with no tattoo experience will outperform the wrong person with ten years of it.

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously without losing composure.

Comfortable with basic scheduling and booking software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Experience:

  • tattoo: 2 years (preferred)

Work Location: In person
