Full job description

Studio Manager — Sandbox Tattoos

Sandbox Tattoos is one of Ontario’s leading tattoo studios, with two busy locations, 20+ international artists, thousands of five-star Google reviews, and a reputation for premium realism.

Our goal is simple: become the best realism tattoo studio in Canada.

We are hiring an exceptional Studio Manager to help us get there.

The Role

This is not a front-desk position.

You are responsible for the performance of the studio — sales, client experience, scheduling, artist performance, and day-to-day execution.

You will:

  • Drive sales. Convert consultations and walk-ins into bookings, identify opportunities, follow up on pending clients, and maximize studio revenue.
  • Optimize the schedule. Keep artists fully booked, fill cancellations quickly, reduce empty chair time, and identify schedule problems before they cost us money.
  • Lead the artists. Keep artists on time, prepared, organized, and accountable to Sandbox standards.
  • Own the client experience. Greet clients, manage consultations, solve complaints, and make sure every client receives a premium experience.
  • Solve problems fast. Scheduling conflict, cancellation, unhappy client, late artist, open chair — you take action immediately.
  • Run the floor. Manage calls, walk-ins, appointments, consultations, payments, consent forms, supplies, cleanliness, and daily studio operations.
  • Work directly with ownership. Identify problems, communicate clearly, and bring solutions — not excuses.

Who We Want

We are looking for an A-player.

You are competitive, sharp, confident, organized, and extremely fast at getting things done.

You should be:

Sales-driven. You are comfortable closing, upselling, following up, and asking for the booking.

Exceptional with people. Clients trust you quickly. You can handle a nervous first-timer, high-value client, frustrated customer, or busy artist confidently.

Fast-moving. You don't wait to be told twice. When something needs to happen, you make it happen.

Highly organized. You can manage 20+ artists, clients, calls, consultations, cancellations, and schedule changes without losing control.

A problem solver. You don't simply report problems. You fix them.

Comfortable leading people. You can hold artists accountable, have difficult conversations, and maintain standards while building strong relationships.

Coachable. You learn systems quickly, apply feedback immediately, and don't repeatedly make the same mistakes.

Requirements

Experience in sales, hospitality, retail management, customer service, or another fast-paced client-facing environment is preferred.

Tattoo industry experience is an asset, but not required.

We care more about your drive, intelligence, communication, sales ability, and ability to execute than the number of years on your résumé.

Job Type: Full-time
Work Location: In person

This role is for someone who wants responsibility.

If you want a comfortable front-desk job, this isn't it.

If you want to lead a busy studio, drive sales, solve problems, optimize performance, and be rewarded for results, we want to hear from you.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

Experience:

  • Sales: 1 year (required)
  • Management: 1 year (required)
