Full job description

For over 25 years, we've been celebrating creativity, supporting artists, and creating products that Canadians are proud to own. Every shirt, tote, hoodie, patch, and custom project that leaves our studio represents our brands and our commitment to quality.

We're looking for a Screen Printer who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in craftsmanship, and understands that every print leaving our studio reflects our reputation.

Position Summary

Screen printing is the heart of this role.

As our Screen Printer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality prints on apparel and accessories using our manual screen printing press. You'll oversee the printing process from setup through final quality inspection, ensuring every product meets our standards for consistency, colour, and craftsmanship.

When not actively printing, you'll support other areas of our production studio, including DTG printing, order preparation, packaging, inventory organization, and general studio operations.

Primary Responsibilities -

Screen Printing (Primary Focus)

  • Set up and operate our manual screen printing press.
  • Prepare screens, inks, and print stations for production.
  • Register artwork accurately and maintain print consistency throughout production runs.
  • Mix inks and colour-match when required.
  • Produce clean, consistent prints that meet Make's quality standards.
  • Monitor print quality throughout every production run.
  • Troubleshoot printing issues and make adjustments as needed.
  • Reclaim screens and prepare screens for upcoming jobs.
  • Clean and maintain presses, screens, squeegees, and production equipment.
  • Help improve screen printing workflows, efficiency, and quality.

Secondary Responsibilities -

Production Support

When screen printing production allows, you'll also:

  • Assist with DTG printing and garment preparation.
  • Help package and fulfill customer orders.
  • Receive and organize inventory and production materials.
  • Maintain accurate production records using spreadsheets and tracking systems.
  • Keep the studio clean, organized, and production-ready.
  • Support other production projects as required.
  • Pitch in wherever an extra set of hands is needed.

What We're Looking For

You'll probably be a great fit if you:

  • Take real pride in producing exceptional screen prints.
  • Have an excellent eye for detail and consistency.
  • Enjoy repetitive work that requires precision and focus.
  • Are organized and able to manage multiple production jobs.
  • Work well independently while also contributing to a collaborative team.
  • Like finding ways to improve processes and efficiency.
  • Take ownership of your work and care about the finished product.

Experience & Skills

Ideal qualifications include:

  • Previous manual screen printing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ink mixing, screen setup, registration, and print quality control is an asset.
  • Experience with DTG printing is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is helpful.
  • Comfortable using Excel, Google Workspace, and production tracking tools.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift production materials.
  • A willingness to learn and grow within our production team.

Candidates with less experience but an exceptional work ethic, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn are encouraged to apply.

What We Offer

  • Permanent full-time position (32–40 hours per week)
  • Monday–Friday daytime schedule (occasional weekends during busy production periods)
  • Benefits package
  • Ongoing training and opportunities to expand your production skills
  • A creative, collaborative workplace where quality is valued
  • The opportunity to create products enjoyed by thousands of Canadians every year

Diversity & Inclusion

Make is proud to be an inclusive workplace. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences and are committed to creating a respectful, supportive, and collaborative work environment.

We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
