Executive Summary

We are seeking a high-caliber, results-oriented Director of Sales & Marketing to spearhead our growth within the specialized building materials sector. This role is not just about managing a team; it is about being a visionary sales leader who understands the technical nuances of Facades and Wall Linings. You will be responsible for driving demand through strategic promotion, managing a diverse network of internal and independent representatives, and ensuring our brand is the first choice for architects and contractors.

Core Responsibilities1. Strategic Sales Leadership

  • Target Achievement: Own the annual sales budget. Develop and execute aggressive strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets and margin goals.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing sales department, including internal sales staff and a national network of Independent Manufacturer Reps.
  • Pipeline Management: Oversee the CRM to ensure accurate forecasting and a healthy project pipeline from "spec" to "close."

2. Market Demand & Promotion

  • Architectural Promotion: Lead the strategy for Architectural Reps to secure proprietary specifications. Ensure our products are integrated into the design phase of major projects.
  • Marketing Integration: Collaborate with marketing teams to create technical collateral, CEU programs, and digital campaigns that resonate with the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) community.
  • Brand Positioning: Position our Facade and Wall Lining solutions as the industry standard for Divisions 6, 7, 10, and 12.

3. Channel & Partnership Development

  • Manufacturer Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for manufacturing partners to ensure product availability, quality feedback, and co-marketing initiatives.
  • Rep Network Optimization: Evaluate and optimize the performance of independent rep groups, providing them with the tools and incentives necessary to win.

Required Qualifications & Technical Expertise

  • Division Mastery: Deep, demonstrable experience in the following CSI MasterFormat divisions:
  • Division 06: Wood, Plastics, and Composites (Specialty sheathings/trims).
  • Division 07: Thermal and Moisture Protection (Cladding, facades, rainscreens).
  • Division 10: Specialties (Wall protection, interior specialties).
  • Division 12: Furnishings (Manufactured woodwork/casework interfaces).
  • Experience: 10+ years of senior sales leadership in the construction materials industry.
  • Network: An established "rolodex" of relationships with Tier-1 architectural firms, general contractors, and developers.
  • Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to move a product from a "commodity" sell to a "specified" value-add sell.

The Ideal Candidate

You are a "player-coach" who isn't afraid to get on a job site or into an architecture firm’s library to close a deal. You understand that in construction, relationships are the foundation, but technical data and reliability are the structural steel. You are data-driven, charismatic, and obsessed with winning the "big" projects.

Pay: $100,000.00-$150,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Dental care
  • On-site parking
  • RRSP match

Application question(s):

  • What are your salary expectations?
  • Walk me through your experience with Divisions 6, 7, 10, and 12. Which of these is your strongest suite, and can you provide an example of a complex project where you had to navigate the technical requirements of these specific divisions?
  • What is your philosophy on managing Independent Manufacturer Reps versus internal Architectural Reps? How do you ensure an independent rep firm prioritizes your product line over the other brands they carry?
