Job Title: Document Control & Configuration Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Document Control & Configuration to join our team Montreal. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining controlled technical documentation, configuration baselines, engineering changes, and customer deliverables throughout the program lifecycle. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, Logistics, and the customer, this role ensures the integrity, traceability, and availability of technical data required to support system deployment, sustainment, and lifecycle management.

Core Responsibilities

Document Control & Technical Data Management

  • Manage the lifecycle of controlled documents, including revision control, distribution, retention, and archival – this includes maintaining technical Data Packages (TDPs), Configuration Management Plans (CMPs), Software Version Descriptions (SVDs), and other controlled program documentation.
  • Maintain document repositories, technical data libraries, and master document registers.
  • Coordinate document reviews, approvals, releases, and updates across stakeholders.
  • Control access to sensitive, proprietary, and export-controlled information.

Configuration Management

  • Maintain configuration baselines, configuration records, and associated technical documentation.
  • Support configuration identification, change control, status accounting, and verification activities.
  • Track approved deviations, waivers, modifications, and engineering changes.
  • Support configuration audits and baseline verification activities.

Engineering Change Control

  • Support Engineering Change Proposal (ECP), deviation, waiver, and Configuration Control Board (CCB) processes, including documentation, status tracking, and traceability.
  • Ensure approved changes are incorporated into technical documentation, configuration records, and controlled baselines.
  • Maintain change history and traceability throughout the system lifecycle.

Program Support

  • Support fielding, installation, sustainment, and customer acceptance activities through the preparation and release of controlled documentation.
  • Prepare controlled work packages and verify maintenance, overhaul, and field service records.
  • Coordinate documentation deliverables between Engineering, Operations, corporate stakeholders, and the customer.
  • Support system retirement and configuration reconciliation activities as required.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure document control and configuration management activities comply with contractual, company, and customer requirements.
  • Support customer reviews, audits, and technical assessments.
  • Develop and maintain document control and configuration management procedures and work instructions.
  • Maintain traceability between configuration baselines, engineering changes, maintenance records, and customer deliverables.

Job Specifications:

  • Diploma, DEC, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Technical Documentation, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in document control, configuration management, engineering support, or a related technical environment.
  • Working knowledge of configuration management principles, document control processes, and engineering change management.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across Engineering, Operations, Program Management, and customer stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting defense, aerospace, simulation, manufacturing, or other regulated industries is considered an asset.

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
