Green Cedar Homes is a Luxury Home builder building in and around Calgary! We are growing and building in more communities which means we are seeking an Intermediate Architectural Technologist! Attention to detail, quality, & craftsmanship is what we are all about so having a passion for a perfectly built home is what we are looking for. In addition, you have the passion and desire to be a part of the team to provide people with the home of their dreams. We are looking for a responsible self-starter with exceptional customer service skills and administrative knowledge to help us manage our growing client base. New home construction knowledge is a must and adapting to high level change / per Advancement opportunities available with proper training and obtaining industry credentials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting – preparing plans; Creating new models and elevations, updating standard plans and blacklines as needed, preparing details for standard or customized items such as fireplaces, HIRF, Niches, etc.
  • Building Pockets – helping sales to determine pocket size for allowable house width as well as garage orientation on lot
  • Sending out requests for plot plans, engineering, Truss and Joist Layouts
  • Adjusting grades as per the provided plot plan, making sure everything works properly and adding additional siding, steps, etc. where applicable
  • Submitting for Architectural Approval and making any necessary changes that may arise upon that review, while also notifying Sales so they can make the clients aware
  • Reviewing Truss and Joist layouts for accuracy, adding pad and beam pocket sizes to foundation plan

Job Requirements:

  • Applicant must be able to work legally in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. GCH will not assist in obtaining work permit.
  • Applicant must be currently living in OR willing to relocate to Calgary at his/her own expenses prior to job start.
  • Architectural Technology Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of wood-framing production drafting experience in the Canadian Residential Industry
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Ability to work in Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of the National Building Code - 2019 Alberta Edition
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the Company including its executive team.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
