BlackStar Solutions Inc. is a Newfoundland owned and operated company providing vegetation management services to various utilities. Our clients include Newfoundland & Labrador Hydro, Churchill Falls Labrador Corporation, and Newfoundland Power. BlackStar is dedicated to safe, efficient, and innovative line clearance services to the utility industry.

We are currently seeking experienced Utility Arborist/ Tree Trimmers who want to join our team for a rewarding career in utility vegetation management. Through our ongoing training and advancement program to our proactive wage scale we are continually growing our group of highly trained and qualified staff.

Requirements

  • MUST have 1+ years’ experience climbing and/or operating an aerial bucket truck, chipper, handheld tools, power tools, pruners, and other specialized equipment.
  • MUST have documented hours of experience working aloft in an aerial bucket truck and/or climbing while in close proximity of energized electrical lines.
  • Valid Standard First Aid, CPR, WHMIS, Fall Arrest, and Power Line Hazards training.
  • Chainsaw Safety, Bucking, and Felling near Powerlines or equivalent training.
  • ISA Certified Arborist or willingness to obtain credentials would be an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence as a minimum, Class 3 with air brake endorsement preferred.
  • Able to work as part of a team in a physically demanding environment.
  • Own transportation to a common meeting location.

Location

  • Various throughout Newfoundland/ Labrador and Nova Scotia, travel for extended periods of time will be essential.
