Full job description

Arborwest Consulting is seeking a self-motivated, career-driven individual to join our team.

We currently have one full-time position to fill for work throughout the North Interior region of British Columbia.

If you are looking to advance your career in the planning & management of utility vegetation programs with our growing team of arborists, planners and project managers, we'd love to hear from you.

This position will remain open until filled.

Applicants must have related experience and proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks/projects.

Requirements for this position:

  • Minimum three years of Natural Resource Management, Vegetation Management or related experience / education
  • Eligible for ISA Certified Arborist / Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) and/or Wildlife Danger Tree Assessor (WLDT)
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and GIS mapping experience
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Class 5 Drivers License
  • Ability to walk/hike rugged terrain in all weather conditions
  • Ability to interpret maps/work plans and navigate accordingly
  • Ability to problem solve and work both independently and on a team
  • Ability to identify common trees and vegetation growth rates
  • Flexibility for frequent overnight travel

Considered an asset for this position:

  • Utility Vegetation Management (UVM) experience
  • Certified Utility Arborist (CUA) or Apprentice Utility Arborist (AUA)
  • ISA Certified Arborist/Utility Specialist
  • Eligibility for ABCFP Registered Forest Technologist (RFT)

Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.
