Full job description
Job Summary:
In this position you will get an opportunity to provide behavioral consulting services supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities, and their families. All services are delivered with professionalism, passion, and in accordance with the policies and procedures of The Centre for Child Development. You will work to empower children, foster positive growth, and promote an inclusive environment that supports development and well-being.
Job details:
· Conduct functional behaviour assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized behaviour plans
· Provide clinical guidance to behavioural interventionist and parent coaching sessions
· Provide direct behaviour consultation to children and families
· Support caregivers, coordinate referrals, and maintain knowledge of appropriate internal and external resources
· Foster growth in areas such as emotional regulation, social skills, and daily functioning through developing and leading individual and group interventions
· Monitor progress, document accurately, and communicate with families
· Effectively collaborate with team members for integrated, trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming care.
· Use strengths-based, culturally safe approaches respecting Indigenous contexts
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills & Ability Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Educational Psychology or a related discipline from an accredited post-secondary institutio
- Two years’ experience working as a professional directly with children with confirmed or suspected Autism and/or other developmental disabilities or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Ability to easily establish rapport with children, families, and staff
- Knowledge of computer systems and applications
- Ability to communicate with families in a language common amongst clients (e.g., Punjabi, Hindi, Arabic, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Tagalog, etc.) is desirable
- Valid B.C. Driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for work purposes
- Criminal record check and driving history which are acceptable to the employer
