Shop Technician-Ottawa, ON

We are looking for all levels of shop/warehouse experience!
As a Shop Technician, you have great opportunity for advancing your career in the construction industry! You are responsible for performing tasks related to the preparation, testing, shipping, receiving and upkeep of Aquatech’s fleet of specialized dewatering and bypass pumping systems, water treatment systems and all associated components including advanced remote environmental monitoring instrumentation.
Job Responsibilities
- Follow standard operating procedures as it relates to shop operations.
- Load/unload all equipment deliveries/returns.
- Prepare and test equipment and components to be shipped to a project.
- Inspect, clean, test and restock equipment returned from a project as per standard operating procedures.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and policies.
- Keep work areas in the shop/yard organized.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to travel to other branches to assist in workload.
- Able to work flexible hours, including after-hour and weekend emergency work.
Qualifications and Required Experience:
- Warehouse/Shop experience a requirement
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Strong reading and mathematical skills
- Good oral and written communication skills are essential
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and on a daily basis
- Uninhibited ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, push, pull, reach and grasp
- Water/Wastewater/Civil/ Mechanical Engineering or related (OIT a strong asset)
- Valid Class G Driver’s License in good standing
- Forklift Certification preferred
- WHMIS
- 4 Step Awareness
- Working at Heights

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Gloucester, ON K1T 3V7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Work Location: In person
