Job Description:

Bar None Ranches expanded into aquaculture in March 2020, adding a land-based recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) to its diverse operations. Since then, we’ve been successfully raising Barramundi from fingerling to market size. We’re currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our aquaculture team. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Alberta’s growing aquaculture industry.

Principal Role and Responsibility:

  • Perform daily husbandry tasks in RAS, nursery, and hatchery systems (e.g., cleaning tanks, removing debris, cleaning filters)
  • Monitor and maintain water quality parameters such as temperature, CO₂, turbidity, etc.
  • Observe and report on fish health, including signs of stress, disease, behavioral changes, and growth
  • Participate in routine fish handling and grading procedures
  • Clean and maintain water treatment systems (drum filters, foam fractionators, oxyflow) and general equipment (nets, brushes, graders) to ensure optimal biosecurity

Who We’re Looking For:

We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, with a strong work ethic and who can work both independently, as well as in a team.
