Job Summary

The Director of Hotel Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for leading the pre-opening preparation and ongoing operational success of Aqua Royale Health Club, the largest and first-of-its-kind integrated wellness and lifestyle complex in British Columbia.

Located in Richmond, BC, Aqua Royale is a 60,000+ square-foot luxury wellness destination that integrates fitness, spa, massage therapy, wellness services, aquatic facilities, dining, and lifestyle experiences under one roof. The facility is designed to provide members and guests with a premium, all-in-one wellness and hospitality experience.

With a planned soft opening in late August, the Director of Hotel Operations will lead operational readiness, establish service standards, build high-performing teams, and oversee the full operation after opening.

This role will provide leadership across multiple business areas, including Spa & Wellness, Fitness Centre, Food & Beverage, Guest Services, and other operational departments, ensuring operational excellence, exceptional guest experiences, and sustainable business growth.

Responsibilities

1. Operations Management for Luxury Wellness & Hospitality(会所日常运营管理)

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the overall hotel and wellness centre operations.
  • Oversee the daily operations of all departments, including Front Office, Spa & Wellness, Fitness Centre, Restaurant & Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Guest Services, Maintenance, and Security.
  • Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction through consistent service excellence.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, SOPs, and performance standards.
  • Monitor operational KPIs, financial performance, budgets, labour costs, and productivity.
  • Lead department managers to achieve business objectives while maintaining operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to maximize profitability, service quality, and employee engagement.

2. Pre-opening Project & Operational Readiness开业筹备及运营准备

  • Lead and coordinate all pre-opening operational activities to ensure a successful launch.
  • Develop and execute the pre-opening project plan and operational readiness schedule.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, suppliers, and government authorities to complete all opening requirements.
  • Oversee facility inspections, equipment commissioning, inventory setup, and operational testing.
  • Establish operational procedures, service standards, and departmental workflows before opening.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train operational teams to ensure opening readiness.
  • Organize soft opening activities and support the successful grand opening.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of management experience in hotel operations within a four-star or higher-rated hotel.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing multiple operational departments while delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Previous pre-opening experience in hotels, resorts, or wellness centres is considered a strong asset.
  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, team management, coaching, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively manage upward, influence senior leadership, and collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and customer-focused environment.
  • 具有3年以上四星级及以上酒店运营管理经验

  • 能够适应快节奏、高标准的酒店运营环境,并以客户体验为核心开展工作。

Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
