Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician

OEH is looking for a motivated Apprentice Heavy Equipment Technician to join our tea.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving mechanical problems, and learning a skilled trade. No heavy equipment experience is required, just a good mechanical intuition and an eagerness to learn and build a long-term career!

Job Summary
the job would be maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy machinery, including Palfinger truck mounted cranes, truck mounted forklifts, Manitou Telehandlers, and farm equipment. This role requires attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

What You'll Learn

  • Heavy equipment maintenance and repair
  • Hydraulic systems

Daily Responsibilities

  • Assist licensed technicians with repairs and maintenance
  • Perform inspections and preventive maintenance
  • clean and organize work areas
  • Learn diagnostic and repair procedures
  • Use hand and power tools safely
  • Complete assigned tasks while following safety procedures

Qualifications Required

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong work ethic
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Reliable transportation
