Straightline KIA is looking for a motivated 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Year Apprentice Automotive Service Technician to join our growing service department.

We are looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career in the automotive industry, learn from experienced journeyman technicians, and be part of a busy dealership environment with strong processes, training, and growth opportunities.

Position Summary

The Apprentice Technician will assist with vehicle inspections, maintenance, diagnosis, repairs, and general shop duties while working under the guidance of licensed technicians and the service management team. This role is ideal for someone who is reliable, eager to learn, safety-focused, and committed to developing their skills.

Responsibilities

Perform oil changes, tire rotations, tire repairs, mount and balance work, filters, bulbs, batteries, brakes, and basic maintenance.

Assist journeyman technicians with diagnosis, repairs, inspections, and larger jobs.

Complete assigned work accurately and efficiently.

Follow all repair order procedures and document work performed.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Follow all dealership safety policies and shop procedures.

Use tools, hoists, equipment, and diagnostic resources properly and safely.

Communicate with advisors, parts, and technicians when additional work or parts are required.

Support the shop with vehicle movement, inspections, and general service department needs.

Continue progressing through the Alberta apprenticeship program.

Qualifications

Registered 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Year Automotive Service Technician Apprentice in Alberta.

Valid driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract.

Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team.

Good communication and time management skills.

Must be reliable, punctual, and professional.

KIA or dealership experience is an asset but not required.

Must follow all company safety policies and repair order procedures.
