About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Plumber / Junior Plumbing Technician to join our growing team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on experience in commercial plumbing, drainage systems, hydronic heating systems, and high-efficiency boiler installations while working alongside an experienced Journeyman Boiler Specialist.

The successful candidate will assist with commercial mechanical projects, preventative maintenance, service work, boiler room installations, and drainage systems while building the skills required for long-term career growth.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Journeyman Plumbers and Boiler Technicians with installation, maintenance, and repair work.
  • Support the installation of commercial plumbing, drainage, heating, and hydronic systems.
  • Assist with high-efficiency condensing boiler installations and maintenance.
  • Help assemble and install Victaulic piping and connection systems.
  • Assist with the installation and testing of sanitary drainage, storm drainage, venting, and domestic water systems.
  • Transport materials, tools, and equipment to job sites.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance tasks under supervision.
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites.
  • Complete daily work reports and safety documentation.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and Alberta regulations.

QualificationsRequired

  • Registered Plumbing Apprentice (3rd & 4th apprenticeship levels considered) or equivalent plumbing experience.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of plumbing or mechanical construction experience preferred.
  • Strong interest in commercial plumbing, drainage systems, and boiler systems.
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions.
  • Physically capable of lifting materials and working in mechanical rooms and construction environments.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable transportation.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude.

Assets

  • Experience with commercial plumbing systems.
  • Experience with commercial drainage and venting systems.
  • Knowledge of sanitary, storm, and domestic water piping installations.
  • Experience with Victaulic piping systems.
  • Experience with hydronic heating systems.
  • Gasfitter training or certification.
  • Experience reading mechanical drawings and specifications.
  • Safety certifications such as CSTS, WHMIS, Fall Protection, or First Aid.
