Job Summary

We are seeking a an Application Support Specialist to provide technical support, troubleshoot application issues, and ensure the smooth operation of business critical systems. The ideal candidate will work closely with users, IT teams, and vendors to resolve incidents, maintain system performance, and support application enhancements. Strong problem-solving skills, customer service orientation, and experience with application support, incident management, and system troubleshooting are essential.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide support by phone or email to our user base for established clients:
  • Help answer support request on the systems we developed
  • Log, track, and prioritize incidents and service requests
  • Guide our users remotely to solve their issues
  • Help us grow our knowledge base of issues/resolutions items
  • Communication issues to level 3 support
  • Provide support during new project setup
  • Develop and run script to reduce user errors
  • Assist with application testing, validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for new releases and enhancements
  • Assist in data validation, troubleshooting data discrepancies, and supporting data migration activities
  • Develop, maintain, and automate scripts to improve system efficiency and reduce user errors
  • Test application fixes, enhancements, and software releases before deployment
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to improve application performance and usability

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL server and advanced T-SQL advanced querying including joins, stored procedures and (CTEs), views, functions, and stored procedures
  • Experience with source control systems such as Git or Mercurial
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, lookups, and reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Self motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively to team objectives and initiatives
  • Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with attention
  • Degree, diploma or certificate in Computer science, Information Technology or a related field is preferred
