Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support licensed physical therapists in providing quality patient care across various clinical settings. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with patients to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance overall well-being through personalized therapy programs. Prior hospital experience and familiarity with acute care environments are highly valued. The position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Duties

  • Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
  • Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any concerns or changes in condition
  • Support patients during therapeutic exercises, ensuring proper technique and safety
  • Prepare treatment areas and equipment for therapy sessions
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises, mobility techniques, and injury prevention strategies
  • Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards at all times
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate comprehensive patient care

Experience

  • Prior experience working in hospital settings or acute care environments is preferred
  • Proven experience providing direct patient care, particularly in rehabilitation or physical therapy contexts
  • Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practice is essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Knowledge of current best practices in physical therapy techniques and safety procedures
