Full job description

1st Ave Animal hospital is looking for a kind and compassionate Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist. We are a fast-paced small animal practice located in Vancouver. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently as well as be part of a teamwork environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Answer the telephone, greet clients, invoicing, and follow instructions directed by the doctor
  • Handling animals during procedures
  • Monitor and care for animals during and after surgery
  • Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
  • Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, and examining and operating rooms

We are open 7 days a week, so weekend hours may be required. Work experience in the field is an asset and training will also be provided. Please submit your resume and/or cover letter and we will contact you if we think you are the right fit for the team. We thank you for your interest.
