Full job description
Do you enjoy skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and hiking? We are looking to recruit Concierge Team members for the upcoming season. We are looking for Concierges who will pair excitement and commitment to excellent service. As a member of the Guest Services team, you will deliver creativity and innovation and feature exploration of the culture and spirit of Sun Peaks. As a critical guest-facing role within the lobby team, this role is well positioned to maximize value in every guest interaction delivering authentic experiences. This role will develop knowledge and strengthen the successful candidates’ professional experience, opening internal and external opportunities for advancement throughout the Tourism/Hospitality industry. Compensation Information: $19.85 per hour
Physical Requirement: Medium; work activities involve handling loads up to 20kg; predominantly in an indoor setting.
This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Skills you bring with you:
- Proven experience as a Concierge or Front Desk, minimum 1 year experience.
- Experience in a hotel setting or related industry is required; resort experience ideal.
- Energetic with a confident positive attitude, driven to deliver elevated guest experiences.
- Professional and well organized with excellent communication skills in English; multi-lingual is a strong asset.
- A working knowledge of hotel systems, specifically Opera PMS or Similar would be a strong asset.
- Proficiency with computer systems required, such as Microsoft Windows applications.
Primary Responsibilities:
Guest Experience/Operations:
- Demonstrates what it means to be a ‘Service Champion’ for Guest Services, role modelling welcoming hospitality and exemplifying excellence in service as a member of the Guest Services team by:
- Works with guests pre arrival and in-house to ascertain preferences and provide insightful recommendations.
- Building authentic individual connections with guests wherever possible to drive loyalty and referrals.
- Conducts pre arrival process to contact all future guests to arrange services including but not limited to Activity Bookings, Dining Reservations, shipping packages, various Transportation methods, and researching different vendors and service providers.
- Utilize a variety of software programs. Communicate with internal personnel and departments via radio, ES Chat and phones. Concierge system to track all requests and Opera to ensure proper billing.
Team Commitment / Collaboration:
- Maintain a professional appearance and friendly presence within the Front Office areas using the 10-7 rule:
- Stop current task or employee conversation and look up from workspace when guest approaches at 10 feet, acknowledging and verbally greeting guest when 7 feet from work location using an acceptable greeting such as:
- New arrivals to the lobby: Good afternoon and welcome to the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel and Conference Centre, how may I assist you?
- Or in-house guest’s arrival to the desk: Good afternoon Mr / Mrs Guest name, how can I assist you?
- Stop current task or employee conversation and look up from workspace when guest approaches at 10 feet, acknowledging and verbally greeting guest when 7 feet from work location using an acceptable greeting such as:
- Act with professionalism and provide a service standard that elevates the guest experience.
- Act as an ambassador of the Hotel & Sun Peaks Resort, as prompted by guests for direction and insight on internal and external events.
- Take note of opportunities to improve processes, empower team members and remove barriers that weaken guest experience by making suggestions to improve satisfaction scores.
- Check in/out assistance to Front Office team during high business levels, including additional assistance with departures.
