Full job description

Reliance Ventures is a privately owned chemical and fluid hauling company based in Fort St. John, BC and Grande Prairie, AB. We service North Eastern BC and Northern Alberta with our fleet of Tank Trucks. We are currently seeking to hire a Dispatcher.

Responsibilities:

  • Serving as primary point of contact for internal and third-party truck drivers.
  • Planning and dispatching of daily job requirements.
  • Communicating clearly with employees and customer on specific job details
  • Dispatching using computer programs including fleet GPS monitoring, electronic logbooks, and fleet management software.
  • Managing transportation efficiency by proactively planning the most cost effective and efficient loads.
  • Building and managing respectful and productive relationships with drivers and field operations staff in a high stress work environment.
  • Monitoring phone and emails regularly.
  • Collecting and reporting key logistics performance data daily.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education, and/or 2 years' in logistics and transportation
  • Strong knowledge of TDG regulations, HOS, weights, and dimensions, permitting, load securement and OH&S standards
  • Outstanding communication, organization, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to remain focused and positive under stressful conditions
  • Self-motivated and able to work without immediate day-to-day supervision
  • Previous experience in oilfield dispatching considered an asset
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate outstanding organization, leadership and time-management skills
  • Possess a high level of integrity and professionalism
  • Demonstrate the desire to join a dynamic, hard-working team and take an active role in the success of this growing organization
