THE OPPORTUNITY

The Assistant Marketing Manager is responsible for providing support in developing and executing activities across all brands and channels (Retail, Export, Foodservice) to achieve revenue goals and strategic business objectives. Based in Waterloo Ontario and reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, this position is an integral part of our small, dynamic marketing team. We’re looking for a creative, energetic, and enthusiastic individual who is excited to learn and bring innovative and unique ideas from concept to implementation. If you’re a collaborative team player and a strong critical thinker focused on driving brands forward, we want to hear from you!

  • Assist in the development of marketing strategies including brand positioning, market and competitive analyses, customer segmentation, penetration plans, promotional activities, and related product positioning.
  • Guide development and lead execution of integrated marketing communication programs including but not limited to, branding, public relations, trade and consumer publications, trade shows, digital media and content management
  • Develop and deliver all marketing materials including print, POS, coupons, sampling.
  • Facilitate brand and product marketing support including product launch promotional support, sales training, presentations, and tools, and general sales support.
  • Gather, analyze, and report on consumer, customer, and market research and trends
  • Work closely with Marketing, Product Development, and Regulatory Affairs teams for new product development, product improvements, and product lifecycle management
  • Identify trends and research opportunities to support the innovation pipeline and new product development process
  • Plan and coordinate community events, sponsorships, and trade shows.
  • Support Customer Service Team with website and phone inquiries, as required.

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Commerce, or related field.
  • Proven track record in brand management, with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience preferred.
  • Experience in CPG/Grocery/Food industry is considered a strong asset.
  • Bilingual (English, French) is considered an asset
  • A creative, energetic and enthusiastic individual who is excited to learn and bring innovative and unique ideas from concept to implementation.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to translate data and insights into clear recommendations
  • High attention to detail with consistent, accurate execution
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience managing relationships with external partners (vendors, agencies, etc.)
  • Experience working with industry and data reports/tools (Nielsen, Datassentials, etc.)
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed timeframes
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote)
  • Knowledge of photo/image software (AcrobatPro, Illustrator, Photoshop) is a strong asset
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Pinterest, etc.
  • Experience coordinating and monitoring paid digital content and influencer marketing.
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts and principles
  • Experience negotiating pricing and contracts with external vendors considered an asset
