Full job description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live In Caregiver/Housekeeper to to work with a young lady whose world is experienced through the help and hands of others. The individual is small in stature and wheelchair-bound, a happy soul who loves music and people who will talk and engage with her, through words, books, and hugs. Even though she cannot communicate with her own words, her eyes have a way of expressing her needs and her smiles will warm your heart.

The Home is fully equipped with Hoists and Elevators, so no lifting is required. Upstairs on the main floor a two-person lift approach is used occasionally when the individual is moved from her wheelchair to the couch.

Location:

  • Cloverdale (near Cloverdale Rodeo)

Shifts:

  • Live-in Caregiver required Monday to Friday
  • Arrive Monday at 2:00pm and leave Friday at 10:00am
  • Once a month weekend work available if desired
  • Time off between Monday and Friday from 11:30am-3:30pm while the individual attends day program
  • Must be available to work the one day Holidays that fall during the week, some weekend Holidays and if the individual is sick, or unable to attend day program

Compensation:

  • $26.00 an hour

Responsibilities will include:

  • All activities of daily living and assistance with batch cooking and feeding
  • Bathing and changing the diapers of the individual
  • Medication administration (once a day) and any other medication/Supplements that is required
  • Taking the individual into the community for activities
  • Housekeeping such as cleaning and laundry
  • In charge of HandyDART Schedule
  • In charge of ordering the individuals products (Diapers and Supplies)
  • Will attend all of the individuals medical appointments and reviews with her mom
  • Applying splints to the individuals feet, using equipment like a Standing frame

Living Situation:

  • Caregiver will have their own bedroom in the basement next to the clients room but must be able to attend to the individual during the night if needed
  • The individual typically sleeps throughout the night but may require assistance on occasion

Qualifications

  • Must be able to live at the individuals residence during the week
  • Preference for caregivers of Christian Faith

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 per hour
