About the Role

Our distribution centre is more than 300,000 square feet and supports a growing network of retail stores across Western Canada. This is a senior, hands-on leadership position for someone who can improve productivity, organization, inventory flow and team performance.

This is not a desk-only management role. The successful candidate will be expected to spend significant time on the warehouse floor, understand daily operational challenges and ensure the team consistently meets expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operations of a 300,000+ sq. ft. distribution centre
  • Manage warehouse supervisors, team leads and distribution staff
  • Oversee receiving, container unloading, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing and shipping
  • Improve inventory accuracy and ensure products are stored in the correct locations
  • Establish clear productivity targets and hold employees accountable
  • Monitor staffing levels, attendance, performance and labour requirements
  • Create and improve warehouse procedures, systems and workflows
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement practical solutions
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment
  • Ensure orders are prepared accurately and shipped on schedule
  • Coordinate with purchasing, inventory, transportation and retail operations
  • Track key performance indicators and report results to senior management
  • Support hiring, training, coaching and performance management
  • Reduce product damage, picking errors and unnecessary labour costs
  • Prepare the distribution centre for continued company growth

Qualifications

  • Previous management experience in a large warehouse, distribution centre, logistics or high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to lead large teams and manage multiple departments
  • Strong understanding of receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment and shipping
  • Experience creating performance standards and improving productivity
  • Strong organizational, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable making decisions and holding employees accountable
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Strong computer skills and experience with warehouse or inventory management systems
  • Forklift and warehouse equipment knowledge is considered an asset

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is:

  • Hands-on and comfortable working directly with the warehouse team
  • Highly organized and results-driven
  • Firm, fair and consistent
  • Able to build accountability without creating unnecessary conflict
  • Focused on cleanliness, accuracy, productivity and safety
  • Comfortable managing change and improving existing processes
  • Capable of balancing immediate operational needs with long-term planning

What We Offer

  • Senior leadership opportunity within a rapidly growing Canadian company
  • Competitive compensation based on experience
  • Benefits package
  • Long-term career growth opportunities
  • The ability to make a measurable impact on a major distribution operation
  • A fast-paced environment where strong performance is recognized
