525 Restaurant and Patio is looking for an experienced line cook with passion and commitment to the craft.

SUMMARY

To prepare and cook food in a manner that will ensure a quality appearance and taste and prepare meals as promptly as possible. To consistently maintain a clean and well-organized kitchen at all times. To perform all duties in compliance with safety standards, health standards and the Alberta Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis Commission (AGLC).

Candidate must possess strong:

  • Ability to carry out responsibilities with limited supervision

QUALIFICATIONS *

· Demonstrated experience washing dishes and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant or gaming environment. Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Within the realm of the responsibility of the job, maintains a clean and safe work environment. Performs duties in compliance with safety procedures, which includes the use of safety equipment. Incumbents are responsible for following safety procedures, identifying unsafe practices or conditions and informing their supervisor of unsafe conditions, as directed.
  • Prepares and cooks food in a manner which will ensure a quality appearance and taste, and to prepare meals as promptly as possible.
  • Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
  • Ensures that food orders are prepared promptly for the Food and Beverage staff to be delivered to patrons quickly and efficiently.
  • Acts to consistently always maintain a clean and well-organized kitchen.
  • Develops, maintains and enhances positive relations with all customers and team members.
  • Wears and maintains all uniforms properly.
  • Alerts supervisor of any concerns regarding the quality, selection and variety of all food and beverages.
  • Complies with established security policies and procedures.
  • Receives training, technical direction and guidance from the supervisor and management team.
  • Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.
  • Reports to work as scheduled, on time, and ready to work.
  • Other duties as assigned including: Performs side duties, cleaning of the line, restocking shelves and coolers, using cleaning compounds. Also performs other side duties that include performing cooler and hot table temperature checks, cleaning of coolers, taking out trash bags, training other line cooks, handling cleaning compounds and chemicals, and other duties as required.

Job Type: Part-time during off-season with full time hours available during golf season

Pay: $17.00-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
