Position Summary

The Facility & Equipment Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment and facility systems throughout our production operations. This role requires a mechanically inclined individual with experience working on industrial coatings equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, HVAC equipment, material handling equipment and general facility maintenance.

The successful candidate will be a proactive problem solver who can work independently, prioritize competing demands, and respond quickly to equipment and facility issues to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment used in welding, fabrication, assembly, and industrial coatings operations.
  • Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems associated with production equipment.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair pumps, compressors, conveyor systems, material handling equipment, and other industrial machinery.
  • Support maintenance and repair of facility infrastructure including HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, doors, overhead cranes, compressed air systems, and building systems.
  • Coordinate and perform equipment installations, modifications, and facility improvement projects.
  • Assist with equipment commissioning, upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, service reports, and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Work closely with production teams to address equipment issues and improve operational reliability.
  • Ensure maintenance work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers when specialized repairs or inspections are required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and increasing equipment reliability.

Qualifications & Experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), Industrial Maintenance Technician, or equivalent maintenance experience is considered an asset.
  • Technical training in mechanical, industrial, electrical, HVAC, or maintenance-related disciplines is an asset.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Experience

  • Experience maintaining equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, fabrication, or heavy equipment environment.
  • Experience working with:
  • Hydraulic systems
  • Pneumatic systems
  • Industrial Electrical Systems
  • Industrial mechanical equipment
  • Welding and fabrication equipment
  • Paint booth and finishing systems
  • Compressors and compressed air systems
  • HVAC systems
  • Pumps and motors
  • Material handling equipment
  • Overhead cranes and lifting equipment
  • Experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and maintenance management systems is an asset.

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

· Capable of evaluating equipment conditions and anticipating maintenance needs

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize maintenance activities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized workplace.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in various positions throughout the day.
  • Comfortable working at heights on man lift or ladder when required.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Certifications

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License required.
  • Forklift, Aerial Lift, Fall Protection, First Aid, or Overhead Crane certifications are considered strong assets.
  • Lockout/Tagout and confined space training are considered assets.
