We’re looking for a senior technician to complement our sharp, proactive executive assistant to help power our leadership team.
The Role

● Perform light mechanical adjustments such as lock alignment, minor door issues, and hardware tuning
Alarm Systems (Advanced)
● Install, program, service, and troubleshoot intrusion and fire alarm monitoring systems
● Resolve communication faults and device issues
● Perform system testing, commissioning, and customer demonstrations
● Ensure systems are operating properly and ready for monitoring
Maglock & Life Safety Integration
● Install and troubleshoot maglock systems and related release devices
● Integrate systems with fire alarm and emergency egress requirements
● Coordinate with electricians, fire alarm contractors, and other trades when required
● Conduct inspections with city, engineer and fire alarm technician
● Verify proper release on fire alarm activation and power loss
Cabling & Installation Practices
● Run, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling
● Install EMT conduit and other raceway systems where required
● Maintain clean, organized, and professional installation standards
● Label, secure, and route cables properly
Documentation & Service Reporting
● Complete service reports, deficiency notes, and installation documentation
● Record work completed, parts used, and follow-up requirements
● Support closeout documentation and final testing records
What We’re Looking For
- Strong hands-on experience with door operators, maglocks, and alarm systems
- Ability to independently diagnose and solve field issues
- Comfortable working on active residential and commercial sites
- Professional communication skills with customers, property managers, and team members
- Working knowledge of Ontario Building Code (OBC) and AODA accessibility requirements
- Understanding of egress and life safety rules for electrically locked doors

- Basic understanding of door hardware functions and limitations
- Ability to identify mechanical issues outside scope and escalate appropriately
- Strong troubleshooting mindset and attention to detail
