GSE Technician – Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ)

Positions Available: Apprentice & Lead Technician
Location: Toronto, ON (YYZ Airport)

About the Role

Aviation GSE is expanding our maintenance team at Toronto Pearson International Airport ! We’re hiring two key roles under this posting:

  • Apprentice GSE Technician – Entry-level opportunity with full training provided.
  • Lead GSE Technician – Experienced position with supervisory and mentoring responsibilities.

If you’re passionate about keeping ground support equipment (GSE) running safely and efficiently, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on a wide range of airport ground support equipment.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and equipment diagnostics.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with electricians, welders, and paint/body teams to complete full-service repairs.
  • Lead Technicians:
  • Supervise apprentices and junior team members.
  • Assign work orders and ensure all repairs meet safety and quality standards.
  • Provide mentorship and promote a culture of safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

Apprentice GSE Technician:

  • Basic mechanical aptitude with a strong interest in hands-on technical work.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn through on-the-job training.
  • Safety-conscious and dependable.

Lead GSE Technician:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in GSE, heavy equipment, or automotive repair.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience is a strong asset.
  • Must be adaptable to shift work and outdoor working conditions.
