Who are you? A Sales Professional interested in working with commercial agriculture clients

Who are we? Okanagan Fertilizer is the BC Interior’s leading ag-retail company, with locations in Enderby, Williams Lake, and Oliver. We maximize client productivity by integrating high-quality crop input technologies with industry leading, environmentally responsible agronomic support.

Sales Agronomist Overview: Based out of our Enderby location, the Sales Agronomist drives sales to conventional agriculture clients, primarily dairy and beef producers growing forage and cereal crops. The client group is mainly located in the North Okanagan/Shuswap, with a smaller number in the south Okanagan and Boundary areas. Working from a home office is preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

· Meet new and existing clients on a regular, systematic basis.

· Scout and qualify prospective clients.

· Communicate and sell the value of our products and services

· Work with clients to plan their crop inputs purchases

· Offer agronomic support and crop production advice to clients.

· Undertake assigned sales, marketing, and agronomic training.

· Attend weekly sales meetings and provide weekly sales reports

· Participate in trade shows, field days and grower meetings

Required Skills

· Great at building rapport and relationships with clients

· Ability to sell products and services based on company objectives

· Effective oral and written communication

· Competent with computers and smartphones, including Microsoft Office software, CRM software, e-mail, internet, etc.

· Ability to work from the customers perspective, clearly understanding their needs

· Excellent at questioning and qualifying the customer

· Good listening skills

· Employ a systematic method for dealing with customers

· Scouting, prospecting, and pursuing new sales

Measurable Results

· Achieve well defined and measurable sales objectives

· Attain weekly point of contact and meeting targets

· Report weekly sales activities to your sales supervisor

· Ensure Work Orders and quotes done quickly and correctly

· Provide accurate, clearly understood, and actionable orders

· Generate a high level of client satisfaction

· Work successfully under seasonal pressure

· Post-secondary education in agriculture, horticulture or related sectors

· Outside sales work experience
