Full job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and coordinate operational, technical, and fleet-support projects within a defense environment. The successful candidate will ensure mission-critical program performance, maintain high operational availability, and support engineering, configuration, and sustainment activities across the LTSS contract. This role requires strong leadership, a structured project management approach, and the ability to coordinate with internal stakeholders, external partners, and system engineering functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project & Operational Management
  • Plan, organize, and lead day-to-day project operations to exceed internal and external customer expectations.

Technical & Engineering Coordination

  • Oversee configuration management, obsolescence analysis, and technical documentation updates.
  • Act as a key interface between operational teams and the KNDS System Engineering division.
  • Ensure project activities comply with applicable defense, CAF/DND, and engineering requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with program and organizational strategy.

Resource & Risk Management

  • Allocate personnel and resources efficiently to meet project timelines and contractual obligations.
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure on-time project execution.
  • Recommend, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and performance standards.

Cost & Quality Optimization

  • Drive cost-reduction initiatives across all aspects of the LTSS contract.
  • Maintain awareness of best practices in production, fleet, and project management.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and configuration control standards (ISO, LTSC, internal requirements).
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, and resource allocations to support program objectives.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, project progress, risks, and deliverables.
  • Conduct regular structural and technical audits to ensure compliance with defense and organizational standards.
  • Increase fleet and system availability while reducing unnecessary costs and maintaining quality and reliability standards.
