Third Cook (Production Kitchen)

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Third Cook to join our production kitchen team. This is an entry-level cooking position ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is comfortable following structured recipes and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and cooking large quantities of food following standardized recipes and production schedules
  • Perform basic food preparation tasks such as cutting, chopping, peeling, portioning, mixing, and labelling ingredients
  • Accurately complete required logs and documentation (temperature logs, lot tracking, HACCP, CCPs, etc.)
  • Ensure proper labelling, storage, and organization of food products, containers, and kitchen areas
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations, equipment, fridges, and storage areas
  • Monitor food quality and temperatures throughout preparation and handling
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, GMP, and company health & safety standards, including proper PPE and hygiene practices
  • Comply with all Halal food handling and preparation requirements, including preventing cross-contamination and verifying approved ingredients
  • Report any food safety, quality, or equipment concerns to management
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and remain flexible to support operational needs

Qualifications

  • Previous kitchen or food production experience is an asset
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices (HACCP knowledge is an asset)
  • Ability to follow recipes and detailed instructions accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
  • Flexible availability (including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as required)

Pay: $20.60 per hour
