Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000 plus performance bonus
FabHR is looking for a quality manager for their ISO 9001 certified precision machining operations in Dorval, Quebec. The business specializes in in complex, high-precision machined components for customers in the aerospace, defense, medical, electronics, telecommunications, and industrial equipment sectors.
The company operates advanced 5-axis machining systems, robotic automation, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), automated optical inspection systems, and a modern quality management system. We are currently pursuing AS9100 certification and investing heavily in sales, marketing, automation, and manufacturing capacity to support significant growth.
As our customer base continues to expand, quality has become a strategic business function. The successful candidate will play a critical role in protecting customer satisfaction, supporting growth initiatives, and building a world-class quality organization.
Position Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading all quality assurance and quality control activities throughout the organization.
This position reports directly to senior management and carries final authority regarding product quality and shipment release.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the quality team, strengthening inspection processes, driving continuous improvement, leading customer quality investigations, and ensuring that quality systems continue to evolve as the company grows.
This is a leadership position, not simply an inspection position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain the ISO 9001 Quality Management System
- Lead AS9100 implementation and certification activities
- Establish and maintain inspection standards, quality procedures, and workmanship requirements
- Develop and mentor quality personnel
- Review and improve inspection plans and first article processes
- Lead investigations into customer quality issues and customer escapes
- Conduct root cause investigations and implement effective corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization
- Establish accountability for quality performance across all departments
- Conduct management reviews and quality performance reporting
- Lead internal audit activities and external audit preparation
- Act as the primary quality representative for customers, auditors, and suppliers
- Oversee final inspection activities and shipment release
- Develop quality metrics and action plans to improve performance
Performance Objectives
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Support successful AS9100 certification
- Reduce customer escapes and repeat escapes
- Drive external DPMO performance to less than 3.4
- Strengthen final inspection and first article inspection processes
- Develop the quality team and quality culture throughout the organization
- Improve audit performance and quality system effectiveness
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of quality experience in a precision machining, aerospace, medical device, or advanced manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of machined component inspection and manufacturing processes
- Experience leading quality teams and quality improvement initiatives
- Experience conducting root cause investigations and corrective actions
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems
- Experience working directly with customers on quality-related issues
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of problems and drive them to resolution
Preferred Qualifications
- AS9100 experience
- Aerospace manufacturing experience
- Internal auditor certification
- Experience implementing or upgrading quality management systems
- Experience with CMM inspection equipment and automated optical measurement systems
Compensation & Benefits
- $90,000 - $110,000 annual salary

L’entreprise est spécialisée dans la fabrication de composants usinés complexes et de haute précision destinés aux secteurs de l’aérospatiale, de la défense, du médical, de l’électronique, des télécommunications et des équipements industriels.
L’entreprise exploite des centres d’usinage 5 axes de pointe, des systèmes d’automatisation robotisés, des machines à mesurer tridimensionnelles (CMM), des systèmes automatisés d’inspection optique ainsi qu’un système moderne de gestion de la qualité. Elle poursuit actuellement sa certification AS9100 et investit de façon importante dans les ventes, le marketing, l’automatisation et l’augmentation de sa capacité manufacturière afin de soutenir sa croissance.
À mesure que sa clientèle continue de croître, la qualité est devenue une fonction stratégique de l’entreprise. La personne retenue jouera un rôle clé dans la satisfaction de la clientèle, le soutien aux initiatives de croissance et le développement d’une organisation qualité de calibre mondial.
Sommaire du poste
Le ou la gestionnaire qualité est responsable de l’ensemble des activités d’assurance qualité et de contrôle qualité de l’organisation.
Ce poste relève directement de la haute direction et détient l’autorité finale en matière de qualité des produits et de libération des expéditions.
La personne retenue sera responsable du développement de l’équipe qualité, du renforcement des processus d’inspection, de la promotion de l’amélioration continue, de la gestion des enquêtes qualité auprès des clients et de l’évolution des systèmes qualité en fonction de la croissance de l’entreprise.
Il s’agit d’un poste de leadership et non simplement d’un poste d’inspection.
Responsabilités principales
- Diriger et maintenir le système de gestion de la qualité ISO 9001
- Diriger les activités d’implantation et de certification AS9100
- Établir et maintenir les normes d’inspection, les procédures qualité et les exigences de fabrication
- Développer et encadrer le personnel qualité
- Réviser et améliorer les plans d’inspection et les processus de premier article (FAI)
- Mener les enquêtes liées aux problèmes qualité et aux échappements chez les clients
- Réaliser des analyses de causes fondamentales et mettre en œuvre des actions correctives efficaces
- Promouvoir les initiatives d’amélioration continue dans toute l’organisation
- Renforcer l’imputabilité en matière de qualité dans tous les départements
- Effectuer les revues de direction et assurer le suivi des indicateurs qualité
- Diriger les audits internes et la préparation aux audits externes
- Agir à titre de représentant principal de la qualité auprès des clients, auditeurs et fournisseurs
- Superviser les activités d’inspection finale et l’autorisation d’expédition
- Développer des indicateurs qualité et des plans d’action visant l’amélioration de la performance
Objectifs de performance
La personne retenue devra :
- Contribuer à l’obtention de la certification AS9100
- Réduire les échappements clients et les récidives
- Atteindre une performance DPMO externe inférieure à 3,4
- Renforcer les processus d’inspection finale et de premier article
- Développer l’équipe qualité et la culture qualité au sein de l’organisation
- Améliorer les résultats d’audit et l’efficacité du système qualité
Qualifications requises
- Minimum de 7 années d’expérience en qualité dans un environnement d’usinage de précision, d’aérospatiale, de dispositifs médicaux ou de fabrication avancée
- Excellente compréhension de l’inspection de composants usinés et des procédés manufacturiers
- Expérience dans la gestion d’équipes qualité et d’initiatives d’amélioration continue
- Expérience en analyse de causes fondamentales et en gestion des actions correctives
- Bonne connaissance des systèmes qualité ISO 9001
- Expérience de collaboration directe avec les clients pour les enjeux liés à la qualité
- Excellentes aptitudes en communication et en leadership
- Capacité démontrée à prendre en charge les problèmes et à les résoudre efficacement
Qualifications souhaitées
- Expérience avec la norme AS9100
- Expérience dans le secteur aérospatial
- Certification d’auditeur interne
- Expérience dans l’implantation ou l’amélioration de systèmes de gestion de la qualité
- Expérience avec les équipements CMM et les systèmes automatisés de mesure optique
Exigences linguistiques
- La maîtrise de l’anglais est requise en raison des communications régulières avec des clients, fournisseurs, auditeurs et partenaires d’affaires situés à l’extérieur du Québec ainsi que de l’utilisation de documentation technique, de spécifications et de dossiers qualité principalement rédigés en anglais.
