About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Quality Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring our products and services consistently meet customer requirements and the highest quality standards. This position supports the maintenance and continuous improvement of our Quality Management System (QMS) and ensures compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100D, and Z299.3/Z299.4 quality requirements.

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections to verify products meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and quality requirements.
  • Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to inspect precision components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Maintain quality records, inspection reports, and calibration documentation.
  • Support the administration and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Prepare and maintain controlled quality documentation, procedures, work instructions, and forms.
  • Coordinate and participate in internal and external quality audits, including customer and certification audits.
  • Monitor compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100D, and Z299.3/Z299.4 standards.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality issues.
  • Support supplier quality activities as required.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment (aerospace or precision machining experience is an asset).
  • Working knowledge of AS9100D, ISO 9001, and Z299.3/Z299.4 quality standards.
  • Experience planning and participating in internal and external quality audits.
  • Proficiency in CMM operation and programming (PC-DMIS/ MCOSMOS or equivalent software preferred).
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience with quality tools including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and inspection techniques.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and electronic document control systems.
