Full job description

Job Title: Mechanical Project Engineer

Primary Job function: Design mechanical H.V.A.C, plumbing, drainage for buildings and tenant improvements. Liaise with architects and provide design direction and review designers’ drawings.

Essential roles and Responsibilities:

· Mechanical design for H.V.A.C, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems

· Organize and coordinate design staff to meet project deadlines.

· Drawing review and markup

Required Skills:

· Mechanical engineering design for HVAC, hydronics, plumbing, drainage

· Extensive knowledge of building codes, energy codes, plumbing codes, fire codes, ASHRAE Standards

· Proficient in HAP, AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam

· Multi-tasker

· Thrive in a fast-paced working environment

· Good communicator

· Strong Intuitive and proactive manner with problem-solving mindset

· Ability to concentrate on multiple tasks

· Ability to review, interpret and apply building codes in different jurisdictions

· Excellent time management and organizational skills

· Ability to identify potential risks and deal with them directly

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Required Experience:

· 5 – 10 years working experience in the building industry with a background planning and executing projects as part of a project team.

· A bachelor’s degree/diploma in mechanical engineering

· Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng), P.Tech, C.E.T. (10 years)

· Project Management Professional (P.M.P.) considered an asset

· Autodesk, REVIT, AutoCAD working knowledge and mentor team members/EIT
