About the role
This position will start as a part time role and is expected to transition to fulltime in 3 to 6 months. This role comprises both administrative and bookkeeping responsibilities. This role is key on our team and requires an individual who works well in a deadline driven environmentWe believe in investing in our team, so we commit to covering internal training costs associated with learning the business and software as applicable.
Responsibilities
Administrative Support
· Managing all client documents requiring signature
· Issuing firm invoices to clients for services rendered
· Maintenance of Time Tracking System
· Assist with billing, including the preparation of billing summaries.
· Assistance in preparation of new client proposals
· Collection of client personal tax documents and maintenance of tracking system
Bookkeeping Services
Accounts Payable Management:
· Coding and Publishing supplier bills
· Working through the bank feed in QuickBooks Online (QBO) to add or match transactions.
· Payment of supplier bills by EFT
· Reconciling month end supplier statements with bills received
· Reconciling aged Accounts Payable Report
Accounts Receivable Management:
· Generating invoices in QBO using client-provided information
· Recording payment receipts and deposits in QBO
Payroll Management:
· Gathering time sheet information from clients
· Data entry and full cycle payroll processing
· Processing Records of Employment
· Processing year end documents including T4 and T4 Summaries
· Preparation and submission of ROE as needed.
Month End Closing and Compliances:
· Reconciliation of all bank and credit card accounts
· Assembly of month end reports
· Closing the books at month end
· GST filing and remittance including WorkSafe BC, BC PST and EHT
Other Bookkeeping duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
Must have
- Legally able to work in Canada.
- Bookkeeping Experience (minimum 2 years)
- Proficiency in QBO (Certified ProAdvisor)
- Experience with full cycle bookkeeping (minimum 2 years)
- Public Practice Experience preferred minimum 2 years.
- Proven experience managing multiple clients with excellence.
- Team Player, Open Minded, and always looking to improve processes.
- Demonstrate an understanding, appreciation, and a strong desire to uphold established procedures and processes.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Technologically savvy
Nice to have.
- Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop
- Accounting Diploma or Bookkeeping Certification
- Proficiency in Dext, WagePoint, Plooto, QBO
- Experience with third party app integrations with QBO
