Overview
CR Lawyers LLP is a well-established full-service law firm located in five Vancouver Island communities in downtown Campbell River, Comox, Courtenay, Parksville, and Ucluelet.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, team player for a 35-hour work week as our Office Assistant-Receptionist at our Parksville location. This is an in-office position.

The Office Assistant-Receptionist will provide administrative support for our Lawyers in addition to being the first and main point of contact for our clients. For the right candidate, this is a position that offers the ability to grow and develop into further roles within our firm.

Primary Duties

  • Providing high level support for Lawyers,
  • First point of contact for all client relations,
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new software quickly
  • Support administrative functions such as proofreading documents, scheduling appointments, and managing emails & calendars
  • Maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical, ensuring documents are organized and easily accessible
  • Ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally and courteously
  • Operation of copier/fax/scanner & Point of Sale (POS) machines,
  • Responsible for the overall presentation and upkeep of the front-of-house environment
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor and good phone etiquette
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Various other clerical responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Experience, ideal skills and qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience working as a receptionist,
  • 1-2 years minimum working in a legal or professional industry is preferred and is not required,
  • Training will be provided,
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills across all platforms,
  • Sharp eye for detail and unwavering accuracy,
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize duties daily,
  • Comfortable using a variety of technologies that include, copier/scanner/fax, Point of Sales (POS) machines and a variety of firm software programs,
  • Must consistently offer a warm and professional atmosphere while maintaining a neat a tidy Reception area that is both welcoming and comforting to all clients & guests.

Work Hours:

This is an in-office position working Monday – Friday from 8:30-4:30pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch.
