Full job description

Position Summary
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide administrative and clerical support to physicians, healthcare professionals, and patients while helping ensure the clinic operates efficiently and provides excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and provide professional, courteous service.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries.
  • Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
  • Register patients and maintain accurate demographic and medical records.
  • Process referrals, requisitions, prescriptions, and other medical documentation.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.
  • Handle medical records, scanning, faxing, filing, and data entry.
  • Coordinate specialist appointments, diagnostic testing, and follow-ups.
  • Process payments, billing, and insurance-related documentation as required.
  • Assist physicians and healthcare providers with administrative tasks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
  • Communicate professionally with patients, healthcare providers, pharmacies, laboratories, and other external organizations.
  • Perform other administrative duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting is an asset.
  • Strong computer and electronic medical record (EMR) skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a busy clinical environment.
  • Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Pay: $18.25-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:
