Title

Addictions Support Worker

Summary

As an Addictions Support Worker at Her Recovery, you will contribute to the delivery of bed-based services to persons with a chronic addiction, promoting client respect, autonomy, health and improved quality of life. Your duties will include carrying out assigned tasks in a client focused recovery plan which includes support to participate in activities of daily living, recreational and social activities. You will work collaboratively with other health and service providers.

Shifts: 4:00pm-12:30am 4 on 4 off, 12:00AM-8AM 4 on 4 off

Responsibilities:

  • Supervising participants to ensure they adhere to facility rules and regulations
  • Ensuring participants safety
  • Reporting rule-breaking observed to counsellors during the morning shift handover
  • Driving and accompanying participants on trips off-site, for example NA/AA meetings, shopping trips etc.
  • Bag searches after shopping trips
  • Hourly rounds throughout the building
  • Facilitating the How It Works online meeting
  • Answer questions participants might have and pointing them in the right direction to find answers
  • Setting up continental breakfast
  • Provide emotional support
  • Completing a shift summary
  • General clerical duties may be required, for example creating binders that contains program materials
  • Any other duties assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

Completion of diploma from a post-secondary program in a related field or equivalent.

  • Clean Driver`s Abstract
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector
  • Up to date First Aid and ASSIST training preferred.
