About Family Innovation Corp.

Family Innovation Corp. is a dynamic and expanding Canadian-based multi-family office that manages the wealth and businesses of several successful Canadian families. We partner closely with our families to support long-term decision-making across investments, operating businesses, and insurance structures.

We value curiosity, sound judgment, and a practical approach to complex problems. Our team is deeply involved in advancing both financial outcomes and thoughtful decision-making for the families we serve.

Summary

We are looking for a Financial Analyst with a strong quantitative mindset to support work across our Insurance Brokerage and Private Equity activities. This role is well-suited to someone pursuing an actuarial designation, or with formal training in actuarial science, applied mathematics, or a related discipline.

This role will focus on evaluating insurance strategies, modeling investment opportunities, and supporting decision-making on a range of ad hoc transactions and structures.

What You'll Do

  • Build and refine financial and actuarial-style models to support decision-making across insurance and investment opportunities
  • Assess insurance structures and model expected outcomes under different scenarios
  • Evaluate ad hoc investment opportunities, including private deals and non-traditional structures
  • Develop projections that incorporate uncertainty, assumptions, and multiple potential paths
  • Translate complex quantitative outputs into clear, practical insights for decision-makers
  • Identify opportunities to improve modeling approaches, tools, and data quality

About the Business Units

  • Insurance Brokerage: Work closely with insurance-focused activities, including analyzing product structures, supporting long-term projections, and understanding how insurance integrates into broader planning strategies.
  • Private Equity / Investments: Support evaluation and monitoring of private investments, with a focus on situations where data may be incomplete and assumptions must be thoughtfully developed.

Who You Are

  • You are pursuing or have completed a degree in actuarial science, or a related field
  • You are working toward (or interested in working toward) actuarial designation (e.g., SOA/CAS), or completing a Master's in Actuarial Science
  • You have strong quantitative and modeling skills, with advanced Excel capabilities
  • You are comfortable working with uncertainty and building models with imperfect or incomplete information
  • You think critically about assumptions and enjoy problem-solving in less structured situations
  • You can communicate complex ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • You are curious, adaptable, and interested in learning across both insurance and investment domain

Why You'll Love This Role

  • Exposure to a unique mix of insurance, private equity, and family office decision-making
  • Opportunity to apply actuarial thinking in a broader, real-world business context
  • Direct involvement in evaluating meaningful, often one-off financial decisions
  • Close collaboration with a small, high-trust team
  • Competitive salary, extended health benefits, and bonus potential

Salary and Benefits

  • $80,000 - $100,000 per year
  • Extended health benefits
  • Bonus potential

Position Type

  • Nature: Permanent, Full-time, and in-person
  • Work Location: Vancouver, BC
  • Start Date: Immediate

Please note: Candidates must be currently authorized to work in Canada.

We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
