About Our Vision Training Program
Vision is more than seeing clearly—it is how the brain interprets and uses visual information. Our Vision Training program helps children and adults strengthen visual skills that impact learning, daily activities, work, sports, and overall quality of life.
Our team works with patients experiencing:
- Eye turns (strabismus)
- Lazy eye (amblyopia)
- Eye teaming and focusing disorders
- Reading and learning-related visual challenges
- Concussion and acquired brain injury rehabilitation
- Visual processing concerns
- Sports vision performance enhancement
Every treatment plan is individualized to meet each patient's unique needs. Through one-on-one therapy sessions, our Vision Therapists guide patients through carefully designed activities that build visual skills, confidence, and independence while celebrating progress every step of the way.
About the Role
Aurora Eye Care is seeking a compassionate, energetic, and motivated Vision Therapist to join our growing Specialty Clinic team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships, loves helping people reach their potential, and thrives in an environment focused on continuous learning and collaboration.
As a Vision Therapist, you will work one-on-one with patients ranging from young children to older adults, adapting therapy activities to each individual's abilities and goals. You will play an important role in helping patients develop stronger visual function through engaging, personalized therapy sessions.
Approximately 70% of your time will be spent providing direct patient care, while the remaining 30% will focus on treatment planning, documentation, communication with the care team, and administrative responsibilities.
What You'll Do
- Deliver individualized vision therapy and sports vision training programs
- Modify activities to match each patient's progress, abilities, and goals
- Encourage, motivate, and celebrate patient successes throughout treatment
- Accurately document patient progress and treatment outcomes
- Collaborate closely with our doctors and specialty clinic team
- Maintain a welcoming, positive, and professional therapy environment
- Continue developing your knowledge through ongoing education and training

QualificationsRequired
- Minimum two years of experience working with children and/or adults in a therapeutic, educational, healthcare, or coaching environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and documentation abilities
Considered an Asset
- Occupational Therapy or Occupational Therapy Assistant experience
- Experience working with children with developmental differences
- Experience working with patients recovering from concussion or acquired brain injuries
- Experience in athletics, coaching, or sports performance
- University education in one or more of the following:
- Kinesiology
- Psychology
- Education
- Social Work
- Optometry
- Occupational Therapy or related fields
Previous Vision Therapy experience is not required. We provide comprehensive on-the-job training and ongoing mentorship to help you develop the specialized skills needed to succeed in this role.
Position Details
- Full-time: 36–40 hours per week
- Part-time: 16–30 hours per week (based on patient caseload)
- Clinic Hours:
- Monday, Thursday & Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Tuesday & Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Compensation is competitive and based on experience.
- This is an in-person position.
