Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, and supporting various accounting functions using a range of accounting software. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial health of our organization through precise data entry, account reconciliation, and financial analysis.

Duties

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently using software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and Workday
  • Perform data entry tasks with high accuracy to maintain up-to-date financial records
  • Reconcile accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies promptly
  • Process payroll using systems like ADP, Ceridian, Kronos, and UltiPro
  • Assist with budgeting, account analysis, and financial reporting to support management decision-making
  • Maintain and update financial information within various accounting platforms including PeopleSoft and Accounting software tools
  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Conduct regular audits of financial transactions to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Manage daily bookkeeping and accounting records
  • Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Process invoices, receipts, and expense reports
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Prepare HST/GST filings and payroll support
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports
  • Maintain general ledger and financial records
  • Monitor cash flow and company expenses
  • Work with external accountants during year-end
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards
  • Maintain accurate filing systems (digital & physical)
  • Support management with budgeting and financial analysis
  • Assist with inventory and cost tracking
  • Handle confidential financial information professionally

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance roles with familiarity in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Workday, PeopleSoft, and UltiPro
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliation, and payroll processing
  • Proficiency in data entry with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent math skills coupled with analytical abilities for account analysis and budgeting tasks
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different accounting systems including Kronos and Ceridian
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Prior experience working in financial services or related fields is preferred
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is highly desirable
