About Us

Kasa CPA is a small cloud-based, boutique accounting firm based in Burnaby, BC. The Role

Kasa CPA is growing, and we are currently looking to add an Accounting Manager to our team!

This is a part-time contractor position (25 – 35 hours) with the possibility of becoming full-time employment. The position is 100% work from home, with flexible working arrangements, however, must be available for core working hours between 10:00am – 3:00 pm Monday to Friday. This is a unique opportunity for an individual who thrives in a small but busy environment with the potential to become a partner down the road.

Responsibilities

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for performing the following tasks:

  • Manages client portfolio (bookkeeping & accounting & tax clients – split between bookkeeping and accounting management work is 50/50)
  • Prepare complex personal and corporate tax returns
  • Prepare complex compilation engagements
  • Review full cycle bookkeeping work completed by bookkeepers
  • Review tax returns and compilation engagements prepared by junior team members
  • Communicate professionally with clients and manage client relationships
  • Provide training to junior team members
  • Light travelling to meet with clients

The Ideal Candidate

  • Friendly, easy-going, with excellent client services; enjoy helping and talking to clients
  • Excellent organization skills to manage client portfolio and to ensure deadlines are met
  • Quick learner, dependable and takes responsibility.
  • Proactive, and a problem-solver.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience working in a CPA firm, ideally in a small or mid-size firm. Otherwise, at least 7 years of managerial experience in industry and 3 years of experience in public practice.
  • 5+ years of experience in preparing personal and corporate tax returns using tax software such as Profile, or TaxCycle
  • 5+ years of experience preparing compilation engagements
  • 5+ years of full cycle bookkeeping experience with software such as QuickBooks, Sage and Xero
  • Supervisory experience, leading and mentoring a team of 2 or more staff
  • Current CPA designation
  • BC resident (located in the lower mainland)

Total Rewards

  • $45-55 per hour depending on experience
