BOOKKEEPER / ACCOUNTING POSITION AVAILABLE
If you are a highly motivated, detail oriented, experienced Bookkeeper with Financial Accounting Knowledge, who is result driven, Avid and its sister companies, will be the place of employment for you. We are a fast-paced insurance brokerage, proudly located in Wilcox, Saskatchewan, home of the Notre Dame Hounds and Athol Murray College of Notre Dame. Previous experience in the insurance industry is not mandatory; however, it will be scored as an attribute in the hiring process.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES INCLUDE:
· Communicating and liaise with individuals and accounting staff calling/emailing to the business office with respect to Finance related matters
· Data Entry to Broker Management Accounting Software and Simply Accounting
· Creating invoices using Accounting Software Program(s) and monitor accounts receivable
· Create and maintain complex Excel charts and spreadsheets
·Monthly sales reconciliations, bank reconciliations, insurance company and inter-company/inter-owner reconciliations, using a manual process
· Entry and retention of Journal Entries to Broker Management Software, following signed off approval from Management
· Processing weekly, monthly and annual financial and other reports for regular review by Management
· Prepare and maintain financial records including in-house financial statements
· Create cash flow projects and other statistical, financial and accounting related reports for Management
· Liaise with Accounting Team on an ongoing basis to ensure timely and smooth data entry and reconciliation of accounts
· Liaison with external Accountant, in preparation of year end, providing all year end related documents, reports and reconciliations in a prudent manner
· Work with Auditors, in the event of Audit, including Audit preparation,
· Calculate and Prepare Payroll
· Participate in financial, accounting and business development meetings with Avid Staff and/or Board of Directors
· Other duties that may be assigned from time to time as requested by Management and assigned to this position
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor of Business Administration with a Major in Accounting with 10 years work experience for a Canadian Company
OR consideration will also be given to
· A minimum of 12 years of verifiable experience working for a Canadian company with proven skills and a College Diploma in Bookkeeping &/or Accounting
SPECIFIC SKILLS:
· Proficient Power Broker, Broker Management Systems is a definite asset
· Proficient with Simply Accounting is a definite asset
· Advanced working knowledge of Excel, being able to produce and apply complex Excel formulas, charts and spreadsheets
· Ability to speak, read, write and understand difficult verbal and written English is compulsory
· Work independently and problem solve through complex financial and accounting related assignments and functions
· Possessing 12 or more years of sound working knowledge of Canadian accounting and bookkeeping standards is a definite attribute
SALARY:
· Commensurate with qualifications and experience and may or may not include relocation benefits, housing and a vehicle
