Full job description

Dentec Safety is expanding across Atlantic Canada and is seeking a high-performance Territory Sales Manager to accelerate distributor growth, secure end-user product approvals, and capture market share in the industrial safety and PPE sector.

Atlantic Canada represents a significant growth opportunity for Dentec. With strong industrial sectors, an established distributor network, and considerable untapped potential across the region, this role offers the opportunity to build a territory, develop new business, and make a measurable impact.

This is not a maintenance role — this is a market expansion mandate.

The successful candidate will combine strong field sales and relationship-building skills with exceptional organization and sales administration. We are looking for someone who can create opportunities in the market while consistently managing the detailed planning, reporting, CRM activity, and follow-up required to turn those opportunities into long-term sales growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Account & Distributor Expansion

  • Develop and aggressively grow the existing sales base while identifying and securing new distribution partners.
  • Strengthen strategic relationships with key distributor accounts to increase share of wallet.
  • Identify untapped opportunities across Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island.
  • Ensure Dentec PPE products are strongly represented across distributor branches, online platforms, catalogues, and promotional campaigns.
  • Develop account-specific growth plans and follow through consistently on identified opportunities.

End-User Development & Specification

  • Target key industrial end-users to drive product trials, approvals, and specification wins.
  • Build long-term relationships with safety managers, procurement teams, operations leaders, and plant management.
  • Identify opportunities across key Atlantic Canadian industries, including construction, manufacturing, utilities, energy, mining, marine, transportation, forestry, fisheries, and government.
  • Partner with distributors to convert end-user approvals into measurable and sustainable sales growth.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up throughout the sales cycle to ensure opportunities move forward.

Sales Execution & Market Activation

  • Lead joint sales initiatives with distributor inside and outside sales teams.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, training sessions, end-user calls, and field trials.
  • Participate in territory sales planning, forecasting, and pipeline development.
  • Identify and participate in strategic trade shows, industry events, and regional sales opportunities.
  • Build and execute a structured territory growth plan designed to maximize coverage and market penetration.

Sales Administration, CRM & Reporting Excellence

Strong sales administration is a critical part of this role. The successful candidate must be highly organized, consistent, and detail-oriented, with the discipline to accurately document activity and proactively plan for future growth.

Key expectations include:

  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date CRM records for customer meetings, distributor activity, end-user opportunities, product trials, approvals, and follow-up actions.
  • Complete thorough call reports that clearly document discussions, opportunities, next steps, responsibilities, and timelines.
  • Pre-plan customer visits and travel schedules to ensure every trip has clear objectives and maximizes territory coverage.
  • Maintain a consistent follow-up system so opportunities, commitments, and customer requests are never lost or delayed.
  • Develop and maintain a reliable sales pipeline with realistic opportunity stages, values, timelines, and next actions.
  • Provide regular territory updates, sales forecasts, competitive intelligence, and market feedback.
  • Track progress against territory objectives and adjust activity plans based on results.
  • Demonstrate consistent attention to detail across reporting, scheduling, communication, and account management.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3–7+ years of B2B sales experience in PPE, industrial, safety, construction, or related markets.
  • Proven success driving distributor growth and developing new business.
  • Experience selling into industrial environments such as manufacturing, construction, utilities, energy, mining, marine, forestry, or transportation.
  • Strong relationship-building, presentation, product demonstration, and training skills.
  • A self-starter with a hunter mentality and the ability to create opportunities in an underdeveloped market.
  • Exceptional organization, consistency, and attention to detail.
  • Strong CRM management, reporting, forecasting, and sales planning discipline.
  • Ability to balance significant field activity with the administrative responsibilities required to manage a professional sales territory.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout Atlantic Canada.
  • French language skills are considered an asset but are not required.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Increased distributor penetration and share of wallet.
  • New distributor and account acquisition.
  • End-user product trials and approvals secured.
  • New market opportunities identified and converted.
  • Territory revenue growth above market average.
  • A healthy, accurate, and actively managed sales pipeline.
  • Consistent, detailed CRM activity and call reporting.
  • Strong forecasting accuracy and disciplined follow-up.
  • Effective territory pre-planning and travel management.
  • Measurable expansion of Dentec’s presence across Atlantic Canada.

WHY JOIN DENTEC SAFETY?

  • A significant market opportunity with room to build and grow.
  • An established Canadian brand in the PPE and industrial safety sector.
  • A broad product portfolio with strong opportunities across multiple industries.
  • An entrepreneurial, growth-driven culture.
  • The opportunity to directly influence the development and success of the Atlantic Canadian market.
  • Competitive compensation with performance incentives.

If you are motivated by growth, accountability, building markets, and winning market share — and you have the organization and discipline to manage every opportunity from first contact through to close — we want to hear from you.
