Full job description

Who We Are

Accident Support Services International (ASSI) is the official collision reporting centre partner for Police Services across Canada. Since 1994, we have provided professional collision management services in collaboration with Police, insurance companies, and private enterprise.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a reliable, professional, and customer‑focused Part‑Time Customer Service Representative to join our team in Charlottetown, supporting the Collision Reporting Centre located at 1 Queen St.

You will work 8 hours per week, with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts based on operational needs. The schedule is flexible, and we will always give as much notice as possible when extra coverage is required.

This is a low‑pressure, supportive role where you’ll interact with members of the public and help walk them through the collision reporting process.

This is a hands‑on, active position where you will assist members of the public who have been involved in motor vehicle collisions. Your responsibilities will include preparing collision reports, guiding individuals through the first steps of the insurance process, and photographing damaged vehicles outdoors in all weather conditions. You will also support drivers using our self‑assist kiosks, which requires standing for extended periods.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with the public, and can bring calm, compassion, and professionalism to individuals navigating stressful situations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors, assess their needs, and direct them accordingly
  • Respond to telephone inquiries and transfer calls as required
  • Explain driver reporting requirements for Police and insurance purposes
  • Verify required documentation (driver’s licence, ownership, insurance)
  • Interview drivers to collect accurate collision details
  • Prepare collision reports using customized software for Police, Insurance, and the Ministry of Transportation
  • Retrieve, scan, and file reports and documentation
  • Photograph vehicle damage and upload images to reports
  • Assist drivers with the initial steps of insurance reporting
  • Perform other duties as assigned

You’re a Great Fit If You Have:

  • Flexible availability
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • A valid driver’s licence and solid understanding of the rules of the road
  • 1–2 years of customer service or retail experience (data entry is an asset)
  • Ability to pass additional background checks, including a criminal record check
  • Strong keyboarding, customer service, and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to support individuals during stressful situations

Working Conditions

  • Extended periods of computer use
  • Occasional standing for extended periods
  • Required to photograph damaged vehicles outdoors in all weather conditions
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy required

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.50 per hour
