PTC Windchill Technical Architect

In your role within our Industry X team, you’ll help clients take advantage of significant market opportunities as digital technology moves into the core of industry in product development and manufacturing environments. You’ll help them transform their product, manufacturing and product related services value chains in Products, Communications, Media, High Tech, Aerospace & Defense, Chemicals, Mining, Oil & Gas and Utilities. Responsibilities of the PTC Windchill Technical Architect may include:

  • Provide Technical- and Domain-Expertise on complex projects.
  • Participate in requirements gathering and specifications creation.
  • Participate in the technical design, supporting the technical architect.
  • Development: configure the applications based on the functional and technical design.
  • Deployment / Implementation: Diagnose and resolve defects. Contribute to, and prepare, implementation plan details. Execute the implementation plan.
  • Documentation: Document the configuration and architecture.
  • Validation Tests: Conduct unit testing and functional and integration testing, including preparation of test cases/scenarios and test data.
  • Maintenance: Analyze, design and produce solution enhancements.
  • Coaching of workstream team(s).
  • Successfully supporting the management team in different project workstreams.
  • Programming: Write new, or modify existing, process extension based on physical design and/or programming specifications. This includes documenting the code.
  • Reporting: Progress status and issues.
  • Meet travel requirements, up to 50%.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 + years of professional experience programming with Windchill or other PTC products, including programming with JAVA.
  • Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science or related degree.
  • English is required for this position as this role will regularly interact with English-speaking stakeholders across Canada. Due to the significant high volume of interactions with these English-speaking stakeholders, which is inherent to this position, it is not possible to reorganize the company's activities to avoid this requirement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • API development.
  • Systems Implementation methodology knowledge (Agile Methodology, Waterfall).
  • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) concepts and solutions.
  • Internet of Things (IoT) concepts and solutions.
  • (PLM) PTC Windchill, PDMLink, ProjectLink and MPMLink.
  • (PLM) Integration experience with other enterprise applications like SAP / Salesforce ERP, etc. using Tibco, WebSphere, SOA, or other enterprise application integration solutions.
  • (PLM) Windchill Bulk Migration and/or Data integration experience.
  • (IoT) IoT Technologies including: RFID, Bluetooth LE, Zigbee, Cisco, Axeda, ThingWorx, WindRiver, SCADA, M2M, AI, 2lemetry, AWS, Azure.
  • (IoT) IoT Field Tech Device/sensors, M2M SCADA, edge computing, Wireless comm protocols.
  • Able to comfortably manage multiple tasks, communicate status, escalate issues and juggle competing priorities.
  • Strong team player with a “can do” attitude, and the flexibility to jump in wherever needed.
  • Self-starter with a bias toward action and the ability to produce results.
  • Team management experience.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.

  • Time management skills.

role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation, based on full-time
employment, for roles that may be hired as set forth below.
