Full job description

NutraSun Foods is currently seeking a dependable, self-motivated individual to join our team as a Sanitation/Laborer at our plant in Regina, SK. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, key areas of responsibility include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform sanitation of interior and exterior plant areas, including mill, warehouse, boiler rooms, grain receiving, bathrooms, lunchroom and common areas
  • Follow all food safety, GMP, HACCP, and Quality Assurance requirements
  • Complete daily sanitation checklists, logs, and required documentation accurately and on time
  • Execute tasks outlined in the master sanitation schedule, including deep cleaning and preventative sanitation
  • Wear, use, and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Identify and report sanitation issues, equipment damage, or food safety concerns to the appropriate member of the management team
  • Assist with corrective actions as required
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Follow all workplace safety policies
  • Support Quality Assurance audits, trailer inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Conduct regular inventory counts of sanitation items, PPE supplies and prepare list for restocking
  • Safely perform snow removal activities which will include manual shoveling and the use of a snow blower
  • Perform weed whacking and basic grounds maintenance as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Previous sanitation or food manufacturing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety practices, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ability to work safely while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
  • Ability to complete sanitation records, checklists, and documentation accurately
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including collaboration with Quality Assurance/Production personnel, supporting colleagues and maintaining a positive work environment
  • Physically able to perform sanitation duties, including standing for long periods, lifting, bending, shoveling and working in dusty or cold environments
  • Commitment to workplace safety and food safety culture
  • Ability to lift to 60 lbs.
