Wage Rate: $23.08 - $24.46 per hour (note: the above hourly rate includes negotiated rate and permanent compensation enhancement).

Pathways to Independence requires four (4) Support Workers, ABI to provide assisted living support for adults living with an Acquired Brain Injury. Under the direction of the Client Services Manager, the Support Worker, ABI, supports adults with a brain Injury with homemaking, personal care, community, and personal development skills in accordance with the person’s individual service plan. The Support Worker, ABI will implement established strategies and behavior management plans under the general direction of the Manager and Counsellor. The Support Worker, ABI ensures that the person’s services and supports promote their rights, choices, self-determination, independence and builds personal and community living skills.
The successful candidate must have the following skills/qualifications:
- Secondary School graduation and minimum one-year post-secondary certificate in Human or Health Services; (Proof of education is a condition of employment).
- Continuing education in developmental disabilities an asset.
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- Valid G class driver’s license.
Ideal candidates will also have experience and abilities aligned with the key responsibilities, which includes:
- Demonstrate a person-centered philosophy and commitment to agency vision, mission, and guiding principles.
- Experience supporting adults with brain injuries or other cognitive impairments in a residential, community or independent living environment.
- Provide effective services and supports to supported persons.
- Manage and maintain accurate client information and documentation.
- Participate in and ensure a positive team environment.
- Regular attendance is a requirement of this position.
The successful candidate must be able to perform the job duties as outlined in the job description. All employees at Pathways will be responsible for a commitment to safety. Shifts are typically 12 hours long and include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. May work with clients who have aggressive behavior.
