Full job description

Job Summary

Looking to hire 1 Behaviour Interventionist for a home and community-based day program with a friendly, easy going 23-year-old male. The program focuses on community inclusion, communication, self-management, and life skills. Sessions are 8 hours long, Monday to Friday (9-5) and occur in the family home, private basement suite for student’s day program, and in various community locations. In addition to running the student’s behaviour plan and ABA programming BI will assist with preparing meals for student, helping student complete cleaning and daily chores for his home, and provide some assistance with personal care routines.

We are looking for someone with at least 1 full 9-5 day of availability.

On-going training is provided by Jennifer Vellenoweth, MSc., BCBA.

Job Requirements (Knowledge/ Experience)

  • experience working with children or youth preferred, but not required
  • be able to provide criminal record check (within last 6 months)
  • have a reliable vehicle and driver’s license (mileage for student program activities is reimbursed)
  • excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
  • excellent oral and written communication
  • respond via email to team communication
  • open for new learning and suggestions; be a team player
  • enjoy being outdoors and able to walk, hike, and bike in various community settings
  • reliable and fun-loving
  • be at least 19 yrs old
  • be willing to commit for 1 year
  • fluent in English

Hourly Wages

  • training will be paid at $20 per hour (will run for 4-6 weeks/until program supervisors deem ready to work independently)
  • starting wage of $25 per hour with room to increase to $28 per hour as skill-level increases

Job Type: Part-time
