Play Hockey is seeking a AWS Lambda (Java) Developer to add to our Information Technology team. The successful candidate will have strong time management skills, the ability to work in a team setting as well as individually and have experience in the AWS Lambda (Java) development industry. This is a great opportunity to work on a serverless, modern architecture stack in a fast-paced project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop backend APIs using AWS Lambda (Java) and expose via API Gateway.
  • Integrate with AWS services like S3, Step Functions, CloudWatch, Cognito.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and sprint planning sessions (Agile environment).
  • Write reusable, secure, and testable code for both backend and frontend.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and participate in deployment activities.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 2+ years of software development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java (8 or later) for AWS Lambda development.
  • Familiar with Git, DevOps concepts and working in a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently

Nice to Have:

  • AWS Experience and Certification
  • Java Certification
  • Prior experience on similar cloud-native projects.
