Galaxy Freightline Inc. is a growing Canadian transportation and logistics company providing asset-based and brokerage transportation solutions across North America. We are currently seeking two experienced Operations Managers—one to lead our Eastern Region and one to lead our Western Region.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced transportation professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys leading high-performing teams, and is passionate about operational excellence. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Operations Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable execution of transportation operations within their assigned region.

If you're a strong leader who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, developing people, and delivering exceptional service, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day transportation operations for your assigned region.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability to the Planning, Dispatch, and Freight Coordination teams.
  • Ensure freight moves safely, efficiently, and profitably while meeting customer commitments.
  • Manage regional capacity through effective utilization of company assets and approved carrier partners.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Service Manager to ensure seamless execution of customer expectations and service commitments.
  • Work closely with Sales, Safety & Compliance, Maintenance, and Accounting to support operational success and company objectives.
  • Lead daily operational meetings, establish priorities, and resolve operational challenges.
  • Monitor operational performance and take ownership of regional KPIs.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Coach dispatchers and planners to make operational decisions that balance customer service with financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, and safety standards.
  • Report operational performance, challenges, and opportunities directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum ten years of experience in transportation or logistics operations.
  • Minimum five years of leadership experience managing dispatch, planning, or operations teams.
  • Minimum three years of intermodal transportation experience.
  • Strong knowledge of truckload (FTL), and less-than-truckload (LTL), OTR and intermodal transportation.
  • Experience managing both company-owned assets and third-party carrier partners is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of transportation regulations, Hours of Service, ELDs, and operational compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities with a collaborative management style.
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS); experience with TransPlus Fleet Manager is considered an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Transportation, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

Why Join Galaxy Freightline?

At Galaxy Freightline, we're committed to delivering exceptional transportation solutions through operational excellence, innovation, and outstanding customer service. We invest in our people, empower our leaders, and believe that great operations are built by great teams.

As an Operations Manager, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, influence operational strategy, and help shape the future of a growing Canadian transportation company.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Comprehensive health and dental benefits
  • Paid vacation
  • Professional development and career growth opportunities
  • A collaborative leadership team that values innovation and continuous improvement
  • The opportunity to help build and lead one of Canada's premier transportation operations
