Assistant Clubhouse Manager

Muskoka Lakes Golf & Country Club
Muskoka, ON

Position Overview

Muskoka Lakes Golf & Country Club is seeking a hands-on, service-driven Assistant Clubhouse Manager to support and elevate all clubhouse operations, with a strong emphasis on food and beverage execution.

This role requires a visible leader who thrives on the floor, understands the rhythm of service, and takes ownership of delivering a consistently high standard across à la carte dining, halfway house operations, and club events.

Key Responsibilities

Food & Beverage Operations

  • Oversee daily execution of à la carte dining, ensuring service is efficient, polished, and aligned with club standards
  • Support the operation of the halfway house, maintaining speed of service, product quality, and a strong member-facing presence
  • Actively manage service periods by directing staff, controlling flow, and maintaining consistency from kitchen to table
  • Work closely with the culinary team to ensure seamless communication and execution

Service Standards & Member Experience

  • Set and uphold a high standard of service with a focus on attentiveness, anticipation of member needs, and attention to detail
  • Lead from the floor, engaging with members and ensuring a premium, personalized experience
  • Address and resolve member feedback in real time with professionalism and accountability

Events & Coordination

  • Assist in the planning and execution of club events, tournaments, and member functions
  • Coordinate staffing, room setup, and service logistics to ensure seamless delivery
  • Maintain consistency of service standards across both daily operations and larger-scale events

Team Leadership & Training

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of all front-of-house staff
  • Develop and reinforce service standards through ongoing coaching and daily pre-shift meetings
  • Assist with scheduling and ensure proper staffing levels across dining, halfway house, and events
  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork

Dock & Member Services Oversight

  • Provide oversight and coordination of dock staff to ensure a smooth and welcoming arrival and departure experience for members
  • Ensure dock operations align with overall club service standards and communication flows back to the clubhouse
  • Support integration between dock, golf, and clubhouse teams to deliver a cohesive member experience

Operational Excellence

  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, and cost control within food and beverage operations
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and maintenance standards are upheld across all service areas
  • Support implementation and adherence to standard operating procedures and club policies

Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in food and beverage or hospitality leadership, preferably within a private club or upscale environment
  • Strong understanding of restaurant and bar operations, including à la carte service and event execution
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate service teams
  • close attention to detail and commitment to delivering consistent service standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
