Pathfinder Pet Care & Dog Ranch, located in Steveston (Richmond) is seeking a Dog Wrangler and Pet Care Specialist. This is a permanent position and requires your own reliable transportation to our location as there is no bus service in our area.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

- Supervise and facilitate safe off-leash dog play with our day camp and overnight guests
- Prep and feed meals
- Assist with client check-ins and check-outs
- Administer medications

- Help facilitate smooth operations based on the schedule demands
- Complete on-going ranch chores related to pet care and facility care

Basic Qualifications:

- Commitment to learning and practicing fear free and positive reinforcement techniques
- Basic understanding of canine behaviour and strong interest in becoming proficient
- Eager to work with all dog breeds, sizes and dog personalities
- Physically fit, strong and willing to work in all weather conditions
- Experience owning your own pets and/or being a primary caregiver for dog(s)
- Must have your own reliable transportation (we are located in a rural setting, not close to a bus stop)

- Able to problem solve quickly and work cool under pressure

- Excellent multi-tasker and able to think ahead to avoid conflicts

- Previous work experience working in a leadership position with great responsibility

- Preference given to applicants who have experience working in a pet care facility (dog daycare/ vet / kennel / horse stable / animal shelter or similar)

Wage negotiable based on experience. Training wage during the 1st month.

Eligible for additional raise after successfully completing certification with the PACCC (https://paccert.org/)
